"From the Promised Land to Oblivion"

'Mizrahim' is the derogatory name by which Israelis refer to Jews from North Africa and the Middle East. In Israel, there is a taboo surrounding this discrimination, which sparked a fierce uprising in the 1970s. The movement that then championed the Mizrahim had taken the American Black Panthers as an example. The film introduces us to several generations of this forgotten group and addresses issues of collective grief, exile and lore.
