Pianist Erroll Garner, a self-taught pianist, has forever left his mark on jazz. His song "Misty," which he claims he composed on an airplane between concerts, became a standard upon its release and remains a frequently covered ballad. Who was hiding behind the charming smile of this friendly man from the Pittsburgh ghettos? His talent propelled him to the top of international stages. He led a turbulent life.
