Miracle on 42nd Street plot

Manhattan Plaza in New York City in the 1970s was a unique social experiment that turned a run-down Manhattan neighborhood into one of the city's most attractive areas. The gigantic housing complex provides subsidized housing to people active in the dozens of theaters around Broadway. Various artists owe their careers to this special place to live. Despite turbulent financial times and the AIDS crisis, the project is still going strong. This documentary shows how the affordable housing of Manhattan Plaza, and the artists within its walls, would forever change the future of New York's unique theater scene.
