This documentary highlights some influential films, which were so special that they were pigeonholed with late night midnight b-movies up to and including the 1970s. Their great cult status eventually paved the way for a whole new generation of filmmakers. El Topo (1970), Night of the Living Dead (1968), The Harder They Come (1973), Pink Flamingos (1972), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Eraserhead (1977) were the titles of these films and through In conversations with the makers, distributors and the public, a picture is given of the impact of these films in the period in question.
