Mian Hua plot
Tens of millions of Chinese farm workers work day and night in the production process of the cotton industry. From the cultivation and harvesting of the cotton balls, from the spinning and weaving of the fabric, to its processing into jeans, entire farming families are involved in the production of cotton items. We follow the horde of factory workers as they pack up and make the days-long journey home in overcrowded train compartments, where the hard life is nevertheless cheerfully sung.
