Mensen van Toen plot

For “People from Then”, filmmaker Gilles Frenken was inspired by the film “People from Tomorrow” that Kees Brusse made in 1964, in which he interviewed thirteen young people about their lives and their dreams. In “People from Then” Frenken tries to reconstruct why Brusse's film occupies such a unique place in film history: there are few films that have caused such a stir. With the help of archive material, an interview with maker Brusse and conversations with people who worked on the film at the time, Frenken brings the past to life.
