Measuring Change plot

Towards the end of 2015, James Benning made one of his occasional expeditions to Utah, to where Robert Smithson's colossal land sculpture Spiral Jetty flows into the Great Salt Lake. The water level was low, leaving most of the sculpture visible in the fresh air. He records two thirty-minute periods of that particular day, in the impassive takes that have become his trademark – starting at 8:57 and 15:12, respectively.
