Marxism Today (Prologue) plot

Phil Collins's project Marxism Today is based on the observation that before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Marxist teachings were an integral part of the East German school system. He examines what has become of the teachers after Marxist ideology was increasingly discredited. This short film is the prologue to a more extensive project. Using a combination of interviews and archival footage from the heyday of the socialist state, Collins considers the impact and outgrowth of the social and political transformations of the past two decades.
