Manaslu - Berg der Seelen plot
Based on the life story of one of the greatest mountaineers of our time, Hans Kammerlander. Kammerlander's childhood as the son of a mountain farmer shaped his character. His most significant success is the fastest ascent to the top of Mount Everest in 1996, followed by the first ski descent from the summit. His most painful moment was at Manaslu, where he tragically lost two of his best friends. After 26 years, he returns to climb the 8,163 meter high peak. It confronts him with the tragedy of 1991, which he has not yet recovered. He keeps asking himself why he survived and his friends had to die.
