Maker plot

Maker is a documentary that portrays America's current 'Maker Movement'; a Do-It-Yourself and Do-It-Together culture fueled by passion and supported by the emergence of new technologies. The 'Maker Movement', also known as the 'Third Industrial Revolution', rejects traditional fabrication by introducing new concepts such as open source, crowd funding and digital fabrication. The stereotype of the hobbyist is broken by focusing on manufacturing during the Internet age. The film explores the ideas, resources and individuals that drive the maker movement. Key figures behind the maker projects, daily practitioners and spectators of the movement are interviewed to show what 'the maker movement' means and what impact it has on our society, culture and the economy.
