Majestät Brauchen Sonne plot

Unusual portrait of the last German Kaiser Wilhelm II who was in power from 1888 up to and including the First World War. Vain as he was, he appeared as often as he could in front of the newly invented film camera, and the archives filled with piles of film material. Instead of presenting the historically interested viewer with a standard chronological history lesson, he made a more in-depth portrait of it that delves into the dark character traits.
