Mai 68, la Belle Ouvrage plot

Despite the assurances of the government and the extreme caution with which the head of the Paris police, Maurice Grimaud, sent his instructions by post to each of the 20,000 men serving under him, the tumultuous events of May 1968 were marked by much brutality. Jean-Luc Magneron explored this aspect of an unfortunate spring month, bringing together the experiences of victims and eyewitnesses. The violence with batons, the abuse of tear gas, the blocking of aid and the racist lies were widely criticized.
