Madeleine - Portret van een Stempedagoge plot

The urge for freedom characterizes the life and work of Madeleine Lehning (1911-1997). She left for Geneva when she was seventeen. Here she met Arthur Lehning, anarchist, philosopher and writer. She married him, traveled, wrote and fought for the ideal of freedom. An adventurous life in the shadow of her husband. Until Madeleine decided to live her own life in the early 1950s. She went to study speech therapy. Using the ideas of her anarchist past, she developed an unusual theory of the liberation of the voice. This resulted in an idiosyncratic approach to sound, space, movement and voice. She passed on her spatial vision of the voice to many people from the Dutch and Flemish theater world.
