Lost, Lost, Lost plot
In this video diary, Mekas documents his aspirations and frustrations about life. As a refugee from Lithuania in World War II, he still dreams of a new, independent republic. The film opens with Mekas' first experiences in America. In the middle part of the film we see the reunion of Mekas and his brother with their mother, then ninety years old. It is their first time back in Lithuania since World War II. Eventually, Mekas will realize that reclaiming the past is a hopeless battle.
