Living Water plot
"Making the desert bloom?"
Jordan is one of the countries with the greatest water scarcity in the world. The last stable water source is known as Disi and is located below the Wadi Rum desert. But while the village of Wadi Rum suffers from enormous water shortages, project developers want to turn the nearby city of Aqaba into the new Dubai. And for that, of course, even more of the 'blue gold' is needed. And irrigated farmland, once promised as a vital step towards food security for the Jordanians, is now dominated by powerful agribusinesses that mainly grow for export.
