Live and Let Live plot
This documentary explores the relationship between humans and animals, and why some people become vegan. Food scandals, climate change, diseases of affluence and ethical concerns are causing more and more people to reconsider eating animals and using animal products. Six people talk about their personal reasons and the impact of that decision on their lives: a former butcher, now chef of a vegan Italian restaurant, Jan and Karin, who convert their intensive dairy farming into a rest and shelter for animals rescued from slaughter, activists who rescued chickens from factory farming, and a professional track cyclist training for the 2016 Olympics. In addition, several philosophers, food experts, (social) psychologists and other scientists shed light on the ethical, health and environmental perspectives of veganism.
