Liturgy of Anti-Tank Obstacles plot
Ukrainian director Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk makes documentaries that show how the war has changed his country. That the war has welded the population together is illustrated by the text of the Ukrainian writer Oleksandr Mykhed, with which Liturgy of Anti-tank Obstacles begins: “The language of war is now spoken by everyone. And every bayonet, no matter what it is, counts.” The otherwise wordless film shows sculptors who now make anti-tank crosses instead of religious statues. The soundtrack accompanies these recordings with liturgical choral singing; later an air raid siren sounds.
