Lita Cabellut - Schoonheid boven Alles plot
As a girl, artist Lita Cabellut (1961) experiences a turning point in her life. Her adoptive parents, a prominent family, take her to the Prado Museum in Madrid where she is introduced to painting for the first time. Cabellut was inspired by paintings by Velázquez, Goya, Frans Hals and the many frescoes. As a young girl, Cabellut fell under the spell of these old masters and she also had her first exhibition in the town hall of Masnou (Barçelona) at the age of seventeen. When she turns nineteen it is time for the next step and she moves to the Netherlands to study at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Cabellut has now lived and worked in The Hague for many years, where she makes her larger-than-life portraits in a special fresco technique. For this she combines traditional fresco techniques and modern applications of oil paint.
