Leven met Je Ogen plot

Johan van der Keuken shot a short film about the Chinese photographer To Sang, who has been living and working on Albert Cuypstraat in Amsterdam for twenty years. Ramón Gieling made a long documentary about the making of this film, To Sang photo studio. He followed Van der Keuken and his (sound) wife Noshka van der Lely during that short but very intensive creative process. It turns out to reveal a mechanism about which there have been many misunderstandings in documentary for a long time. In fact, Van der Keuken is making an instant feature film, but one in which the protagonists gradually take matters into their own hands. People who have followed Van der Keuken's work over the years give their views on his work and the themes in it.
