Letter from Your Far-Off Country plot

In this film shot on 16mm, Sanzgiri traces the lines between ancestral memory, poetry and its history. He searches for solidarity in the sounds and colors of a Muslim women-led movement in Delhi, a song by Iqbal Bano and images by BR Ambedkar – a radical anti-caste dalit intellectual. The centerpiece is a letter to a distant relative. In this way he tries to prevent the past from being erased and offers a route to a possible future.
