Les Filles des Ruines plot

Spring 1945. The Second World War is coming to an end in Berlin. But not before the Battle of Berlin has claimed countless casualties. In voice-overs we hear fragments from the diary of young German women who talk about the horrors during the last phase of the war. Archive footage shows the destroyed buildings and the people living in Berlin at that time. When the war comes to a definitive end with the capitulation of the Germans, the women will still have a hard time finding peace, because the Russians will then take Berlin. Five German women look back on this period.
