Leaving Amish Paradise plot
The Amish are a deeply religious and very conservative community. Their lives have changed little since their ancestors arrived in America 300 years ago. Their way of life contrasts sharply with that of the rest of the American consumer society. In 'Trouble in Amish Paradise' we were introduced to the family of Ephraim Stoltzfus. The family lives in the Amish village of Weaverton, but is excluded from the rest of the community for not following the strict religious and cultural rules of the Amish. A year later, we see how Ephraim's family has fallen between two worlds: that of the traditional Amish and that of modern America. We follow Ephraim, Amanda and their children as they embark on their first trip to Britain. It's a real culture shock. Back in the United States, an uncertain future awaits them. We also get to meet other families who face the same dilemmas.
