Le Tarantole Dormono Sotto le Pietre plot

The film is inspired by a ritual that originated in southern Italy in the Middle Ages: Tarantismo, a traditional magical-religious practice for healing people, especially women, who suffered from convulsive movements attributed to the bite of a tarantula. Giada films her mother and thus weaves a dialogue between generations about motherhood, daughterhood and femininity. At the same time, she searches for traces of this ancient ritual and its evolution to this day in southern Italy.
