Le Fort des Fous plot

Documentary about the legacy of colonization. In three acts we see reconstructions, improvisations and interviews in collaboration with the inhabitants of Algiers (where Mari comes from), the island of Kythira and the Prosfygika district in Athens. The film is based on important archival documents about the early 'scientific expeditions' and 'restraining operations' of the French colonizers in North Africa. The story follows a group of young nomads and vagabonds as they form a fantasized utopian society in response to imperialist rule.
