"You think a house is nothing but walls, windows and a roof. But now that we have to leave, my heart breaks." The father of filmmaker Kavich Neang is one of hundreds of residents forced to leave the iconic White Building in Phnom Penh. The residential block saw the Khmer Rouge come and go, then housed a vibrant artistic community. Now the once radiant white walls are gray and battered. Demolition is near.
