Las Palmas: Chaco plot
From 1987 to 1989 Moujan shot the documentary “Banderas de Humo” in the town of Las Palmas in Chaco, a province in the isolated northeast of Argentina. The film dealt with the problems faced by workers faced with the impending closure of their sugar cane factory. In this film Moujan returns to Las Palmas to see how the workers are doing now. The factory that once brought them modest prosperity has been closed for ten years. While the camera wanders through the shabby streets of Las Palmas in the first images, the audio tape plays the furniture auction of the factory and plantation.
