Lagu Lagu plot

In 1951, Moluccan KNIL soldiers and their families were shipped from Indonesia to the Netherlands by boat. A temporary stay, pending a return to the country of origin promised by the Dutch government. It would turn out to be an empty promise. The Moluccan musician 'Opa Piet', grandfather of the well-known Moluccan jazz and pop singer Jessica Manuputty, was one of those KNIL soldiers. In honor of her ancestors and not to forget the injustice done to them, Jessica Manuputty is focusing on traditional 'lagu lagu' in commemoration year 2021. These Moluccan songs are about homesickness, for the Moluccas and Ambon in particular.
