Lágrimas Negras plot
They look like five stiff old men until they come on stage and stir up entire halls with swinging Cuban sounds and 'sexy' movements. The members of the Cuban band 'La Vieje Trova Santiaguera' have an average age of 84 and have traveled all over the world since they were discovered during a jam session in 1993. Playing on a double bass, two guitars, samba balls and claves, the young elderly seduce their audience with passionate music about love. In Lagrimas Negras, filmmaker Sonia Herman Dolz followed the old troubadours for three weeks in Havana and Santiago and filmed the 'pop stars' during a tour of Europe and a concert organized for the film.
