La Terra Habitada plot

What is the traveler looking for? Does travel have a purpose? Anna Sanmartí asks herself these questions in this documentary. Sanmartí started traveling at a young age, almost instinctively, she says. From the first images, when the journey from St. Petersburg to Mongolia begins, it is clear that she is more than an experienced traveller. Sanmartí went in search of a place on earth that could hold up a mirror to her. The long journey, in which the landscapes, sounds and sights slowly change, continues after the Ulan Bator into the empty interior, to encounters in Kathgal, with the postman, towards the final destination: the tribe of the reindeer-riding Tsaatan.
