The Chicano Movement of the 1960s, also known as the Chicano Civil Rights Movement or El Movimiento, was a continuation of the Mexican-American Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s whose goal was to achieve Mexican-American empowerment. Photographer Estevan Oriol and artist Mister Cartoon applied their Chicano background to raw art, which influenced street culture, hip-hop and more.
