La Fabulosa Máquina de Cosechar Oro plot

In the southernmost tip of Chile, Toto has worked as a gold prospector for most of his life. Day in and day out, in the snow or the blazing sun, the sixty-year-old stands with his gold pan in the river, harvesting the shiny crumbs. With his son, Jorge, he lives a simple and contented life in their small wooden house. Even when the gold prospecting increasingly takes its toll and he ends up in the hospital, Toto refuses to trade his life for more comfortable work in a nearby town. Jorge decides to help his father build a gold panning machine of his own design, which he assembles from scrap parts.
