La Dernière Séance plot

Now that the Frenchman Bernard is retired, he is starting the final part of his life. He moves into a new apartment, probably his last. The much younger Gianluca Matarrese films his lover when they have sex – they have a bdsm relationship, where Bernard is his master – but also during more mundane affairs. A lost cat, carefully packing crockery. Their conversations are about the life that Bernard has already had to a large extent. He lost both his first and his great love to AIDS. He himself came out of this black period physically unscathed, but the years are slowly counting. Filmmaker Matarrese portrays his beloved in an intimate way.
