L'Île aux Oiseaux plot
After a period of illness and isolation, Antonin, who suffers from constant exhaustion, goes to work in a bird sanctuary. As he learns the tricks of the trade, he rediscovers the world around him through the birds and the people who care for them, waiting to spread his wings. As viewers we adopt the calm gaze of an ornithologist and see the poetic of the everyday, such as a swan shedding a tear during an operation or a small bird carefully exploring a piece of apple. Wounded birds and lost souls thus seem intrinsically linked: humans and animals receive equal attention.
