L'Héroïque Lande - La Frontière Brûle plot
Calais. Winter 2016. This is the period in which the French government abolished the 'Jungle', a spontaneously created refugee camp north of the French city of Calais and near the ferries to Dover. The camp consists mainly of makeshift tents, boxes and structures and is populated by a varying number of migrants, most of whom want to travel to England via the Channel Tunnel or by boat. This brand new city, which at its peak was home to almost 7800 people, will be 50% demolished by February 2016. 4000 displaced migrants from the southern zone will try to start over in the northern zone.
