Documentary about the trained singer, pianist and entertainment musician Wilhelm Heckmann. Heckmann has performed throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many Nazi leaders were fans of his music and encouraged him, until his bisexual tendencies became known and he was arrested. He was deported first to the Dachau concentration camp and later to Mauthausen. In Mauthausen he worked in the quarry 'Wiener Graben', but around 1940 he managed to set up a musician trio, and afterwards even a large camp orchestra. The orchestra had to play different genres of music for SS men, on the occasion of visits by important guests.
