The red handball player Chris Wassenaar is a bear of a guy. A sturdy Frisian with a characteristic head, which towers tens of centimeters above everyone. It seems made for the popular sport in Friesland, where the ball is beaten back and forth with the hand or fist. But after many successful years, the body begins to gently resist and 'El Gigante' puts an end to it. Keatsheart follows his final season, behind the scenes and on the field. Damn, it often sounds there, out of disappointment and out of joy. Chris forms a team with his brother Jacob and Rutmer van der Meer. At their kitchen tables it becomes clear how much time and energy the handball sport actually consumes. But the spouses have more problems with that than the men themselves. They mainly think of the tournament of tournaments: the PC. It would be the crown on Chris' career to win this one more time. The camera always stays close to the three protagonists and registers how euphoria and frustration alternate.
