Kano: An American and his Harem plot

An American hero of the Vietnam War settled in the Philippines in 1969, invited hundreds of women to his home and built a harem in this poor, remote village. In 2001, Victor Pearson was charged with raping more than 80 women. In 2002, the judge convicted him in two cases. Although Pearson is now serving two life terms in prison in Manila, his many wives remain by his side, even though they testified against him. This rapist and his harem form a dysfunctional family, full of interdependence and distorted power relations.
