Kaddu Beykat plot

Senegalese docufiction about the timid romance between Ngor and Coumba, set against the background of the harsh life in the countryside. Filmmaker Safi Faye loosely framed her feature film debut as an audiovisual letter about her native village. Due to the ongoing drought, the earnings of the millet and peanut farmers in the village are declining. Ngor and his family cannot afford Coumba's dowry, and Ngor decides to seek his fortune in Dakar.
