Johnny Meijer plot

Documentary about accordion virtuoso Johnny Meijer, who is followed in the last days of his life. Meijer acquired international fame as a jazz accordionist. He declined invitations to play in America. He was too fond of the Jordaan to go abroad for any length of time. John Appel's film opens with Johnny Meijer buying a tuxedo for a guest appearance in the Amsterdam concert hall. This performance, on January 8, 1992, would be his last. He died at the age of 79.
