Johnny Cash's America plot
Biographical documentary about country legend Johnny Cash. Cash effortlessly combined folk, rock 'n' roll and country into his own sound. 'The Black Man' was a barrel of contradictions: a country boy with a keen intellect and an insatiable curiosity, patriotic but not dogmatic, dynamic but also restrained. The film is structured thematically ("Faith", "Protest", "Redemption", etc.) and includes testimonials from his son John Jr., daughters Roseanne and Cindy, and musicians he played with and influenced such as Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Steve Earle and Jim Dickinson.
