Jobriath A.D. plot

Jobriath AD is a documentary about the eponymous and first openly gay rock star, also known as 'The American Bowie' and 'The True Fairy of Rock & Roll'. Few people remember Jobriath. His career didn't last long either and it wasn't always a dream come true. He was one of the first famous musicians to die of AIDS in 1983. The critics thought he was a simple showman, the gay community chose David Bowie over him and his records didn't sell at all. With a series of interviews and on the basis of archive material, Turner tells the touching story of Jobriath, who so far had a major influence and whose music is gradually being rediscovered by the new generation.
