Jing Sheng plot

Jing Sheng tells the story of the so-called 'petitioners'; citizens who feel that they have been treated unfairly by the local authorities and are seeking redress in the capital - it is estimated that more than a hundred thousand petitioners live in Beijing. These people, harassed by the so-called 'interceptors', defy abject poverty in their fight against abuses and corruption. Ma Li followed the efforts and hardships of a group of homeless petitioners in southern Beijing for six years.
