Jenseits von Tibet - Eine Liebe zwischen den Welten plot

Berlin punk musician Sandra falls in love with a Tibetan monk whom she meets in India. The love between the two is so great that he, Gelek, who is indeed the sixth reincarnation of a llama, gives up his vows for her. They get married and live in Berlin, where they have a child together. Director Solveig Klaßen tells their story in this documentary. She filmed in Berlin, where the accordion-playing punk girl Sandra lives in a tiny apartment with her monk Gelek and their three-year-old daughter Tara. And followed Sandra to Tibet, where she meets her in-laws. They have not seen their son since he was expelled from the country twelve years ago by the Chinese rulers. Sandra wants to restore contact between parents and son using a digital camera.
