With countless fragments from concerts and interviews, Pierre-Henry Salfati illustrates how Serge Gainsbourg, during his life and career, adopted a dual image with two extremely different personalities: on the one hand the innocent, shy singer (Gainsbourg), on the other the cop-provocateur and dissolute drunkard and madwoman whom he himself called Gainsbarre. Gainsbourg talks about his insecurities in his existence, his passion for music and his complex relationship with women.
