Jazz Seen: The Life and Times of William Claxton plot

In the early 1950s, Claxton started his career photographing the young Chet Baker, who quickly became the idol of American youth. He captured the first moments of the young, then unknown actor Steve McQueen and the young saxophonist Gerry Mulligan. Record sleeves were increasingly used to sell the music and Claxton's aesthetic and sometimes challenging work captured the imagination of the record-buying public. Director Julian Benedikt has developed a good relationship and friendship with Claxton. He was allowed to make exclusive use of never-before-seen material from Claxton's very extensive photographic archive.
