Jaha's Promise plot

Co-directors Patrick Farrelly and Kate O'Callaghan follow female genital mutilation activist Jaha Dukureh on her quest to raise awareness and ultimately end this millennia-old practice. The native Gambian, now living in America, has already brought the matter to the attention of former President Barack Obama and, despite widespread conservatism, is bringing her message back to her homeland.
