Ingelijst Huwelijk plot

A search for the essence of a good, long-lasting marriage. Four couples of different ages and backgrounds discuss the ingredients of their long-term relationship. All four have their own habits to keep it good. Theo and Riet were married in 1951 and never say goodnight to each other. Joseph and Mary do not go to sleep with an angry head. Another couple broke up after five years, but made amends. The four couples are alternately discussed with other phases of their shared life. Through the photo albums and the candid conversations, usually right in front of the camera, it becomes clear that a good marriage is sometimes hard-fought, but that it is always worth it.
