In het Vuur van de Bevrijding plot
In the fire of the liberation is about the period September 1944 - May 1945, which is special in the history of the southern provinces. They were partly liberated, partly in a state of war and were cut off from the rest of the Netherlands. In contrast to the Northern and Central Netherlands, which were largely liberated on 5 May 1945 without a battle due to the German capitulation, the liberation of the Southern Netherlands took place after a chaotic, sometimes bloody war battle. The documentary focuses on the experiences of the civilian population in this oppressive and unclear period.
