In Ferno plot
Documentary by Jacques Laureys about cameraman and director John Fernhout, famous for the short film Sky over Holland. The descendant of an artist family - his grandfather was Jan Toorop, his daughter Charly his mother - came under the care of Joris Ivens as a teenager, who taught him the film trade. The two worked with Ernest Hemingway and Robert Capa, and Ferno also filmed for Henri Storck. But Fernhout also made films himself, including an expedition to Easter Island in 1934. ”In Ferno” sheds light on Fernhout's oeuvre and also deals with the mores of the cameraman profession.
