Impressions of Time plot
In this poetic film essay, Nina Hedenius raises a number of fundamental questions: Where do I come from? Where are we, as a society and as a human species, going? What is the meaning of our existence? What is time anyway? These questions form the basis of a research for which Hedenius richly draws on and reflects on her own film oeuvre spanning almost half a century. In that oeuvre she has captured everyday life at all banal and exalted moments: the birth of a child, the celebration of Christmas, the waiting for an inevitable death, but also a child being read to and the floor mopping.
